Curriculum Vitae

Daria Andrews

About

Daria Andrews is a visual full-time artist, born in 1975 in Poland, lives and works in

Launceston, Tasmania.

She started painting in early childhood, but her professional life as an artist began,

when in her forties she met Alfons Kułakowski, a ninety-year-old painter, later her

friend and mentor. She paints figures caught in mysterious, emotional moments,

often naked, deformed, or fragmented, enveloped by bold colors, surrounded by

imaginary creatures and mystical symbols.

Daria builds a personal relation with her audience, inviting them into her intimate

world via a captured gesture, gaze or shifting focal point. Through her art she shows

the importance of personal transformation by finding her own ways of expression,

self-confidence, and freedom.

Daria held four solo exhibitions in Poland and Australia, her oil paintings and

watercolors have been sold to collectors all over the world (e.g. Poland, Netherlands,

China, US, Vietnam, Australia).
