ARTIST’S STATEMENT
The Tasmanian landscape is known for its (mostly) subdued colours due to its temperate climate. Table Cape in September and October is one of the exceptions. This is the time when the fields come alive as row after row of tulips bear a dazzling array of colours. It’s bizarre, stunning, sensational, even alien, but it’s been a part of the Tasmanian Landscape since the early 1960s.
The view of so much colour in one place, at one time, can be somewhat overwhelming. If you have been fortunate to view this spectacle, how did you react?
This body of work is my reaction. RK
